Kilimanjaro Kids With Futures

Team Vista had a successful trip to Moshi/Tanzania this March and April. We were able to achieve several objectives, which include some of the following:

  • Purchase of the current land and school
  • Redevelopment of the nursery school – including interior and exterior paint job, new classroom, roof, kitchen and back porch.
  • New food program
  • Installation of a water tank
  • Re-building of toilets (which now flush!)
  • Distribution of clothes, books, toys and other items to students
  • Employment of additional teacher

We now have an official in-country coordinator – ‘Richard John.’ Without his assistance many of the above objectives could not have been achieved.

Throughout our time away we experienced ups and downs. We knew our trip would be tricky in many instances, but did not fully realise just how tough it was going to be to achieve the most basic of objectives. However, these photos below clearly illustrate some of the positive changes we are able to create during our time away. The friendliness, love and warmth of the people was overwhelming.
